Limited production
We feel responsible for everything we put out into the world. To make sure we keep our impact as low as possible we only make 25 bags and only make a few vests a year.
Materials
Our vests are made from flax with a little bit of cotton for added softness and flexibility.
Flax is one of the most environmentally responsible fibres out there. It needs hardly any water (60% less than cotton), no chemicals, and every part of the plant gets used.
WildishReMade
Our vests are made to last a lifetime, but we get that not everyone wants to keep something that long.
To avoid your vest ending up in the back of the closet, or worse, the bin, we will take your bag back in exchange for Wildish credit (10% of the bags original value).
We will then recycle the parts from the vest and make it into something new.
sizing
sizing
These vests are unisex and fit true to size. They’ve been designed to sit at waist height and be a slightly boxy fit.
- Want a snug fit over a t-shirt? Go true to size
- Planning to layer with chunky knits? Size up
- Long torso or want a boxier look? Size up for more length
- In between sizes? We recommend going up for comfort

made by ray & rowan
We developed these vests with Ray in Leeds. He's a brilliant product designer and maker. He has made our first batch of vests, but moving forward they will all be made by Rowan and her incredible small team of makers in Glasgow.

material highlights
Finding this fabric is actually what inspired us to make a vest. We found it and knew we had to make something from it.
Our vests are made from flax with a little bit of cotton for added softness and flexibility. Flax is one of the most environmentally responsible fibres out there. It needs hardly any water (60% less than cotton), no chemicals, and every part of the plant gets used.
This incredible fabric is dyed and waxed by Halley Stevenson in Scotland using a vegan, emulsified wax finish. The result is water-resistant, beautifully soft, and built to last.

notes from the designer
I’ve spent a lot of my life wearing vests, usually while up to my waist in water, fly fishing.
So what I’m really saying is: I wore them before they were cool.
Actually, it was the opposite. I spent most of my teenage years being teased for wearing a vest.
But the point is, I know vests. I know what they need, what they don’t, and how they should fit.
I know how high the pockets need to be so you can rest your hands in them and in those pockets you need something to keep things separate.
I know you need just enough space for the things you actually need—but not so much that you pack things you don’t.
I know the back pockets should fit a sandwich. Or a book that’s about the size of a sandwich.
And I know a vest should be simple, functional, and beautiful.
So really this vest has been 25 years in the making (yes, I started wearing these bad boys when I was 5).
A vest for every thing, every day.
It’s simply the vest.

our impact
We feel personally responsible for the things we put out into the world and believe business should be a force for good.

to keep our impact low we:
→ Only make 25 bags a week
→ Will repair your bag for life
→ Will recycle your bag at the end of its life
→ Carbon offset all that we make and do. We plant trees locally (we actually plant
them) and in places where they will have a big impact with the help of Ecologi.

the wildish club
Like Cubs, but for everyone.
With every bag we sell we commit to helping one person get outdoors. We do this through The Wildish club.
don't just take our word for it
We've been featured in some of the worlds best publications and have awesome customers who leave us reviews like the ones below.
We love your products, having bought a couple of bags, and love your authenticity, having met you both in the shop. So I was delighted to see the new vest design and knew my husband would love it too. He did - he’s mad about pockets!! Brilliant design, materials and style! Looks even better than it did in the promo photos.
This vest is just perfect when I am out and about in my garden. In the kitchen garden, the pockets are deep enough to contain many seed packets, my labels and a pencil! I also always loose my secateurs! Now I have them just to hand when I need them and no chance of finding them in the compost heap years later. This is a practical piece of kit, looks good too so you can’t go wrong.
