Limited production
We feel responsible for everything we put out into the world. To make sure we keep our impact as low as possible, we only make 25 bags a week.
Materials
Our hardwearing, weatherproof, GOTS certified organic dry-waxed cotton uses 88% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton. It also uses zero toxic chemicals in its production.
This bag is almost plastic-free (we use a recycled polyester thread)

WildishReMade
Our bags are made to last a lifetime, but we get that not everyone wants to keep something that long.
To avoid your bag ending up in the back of the closet, or worse, the bin, we will take your bag back in exchange for Wildish credit (10% of the bags original value).
We will then recycle the parts from that bag and make it into something new.

from 411 reviewsLovely bag which is the perfect size and beautifully made. And the service (thanks Nell) is second to none. Long may you succeed!
Fitted the now many years old bag! Makes a big difference when filling the bag with heavy stuff and full, shoulders feeling the difference 😁
I just bought a Black Jorvik. It won't be used seriously for a week so just been over everything with a very critical eye.The materials and construction are top quality, no loose threads etc. It is very well designed with just the right amount of pockets ( maybe one internal one could have a zip ? ). My uses are airport hand luggage, carrying swim/snorkel gear with maybe the odd shop and beer run. Excellent service and ethics. A little pricey but if it lasts then not so much

Zero Waste Wallet
Enamel Mug
This is a really nicely made, nicely sized carrying pouch for when you have slightly too much stuff to fit in pockets, but not enough to need a proper bag. The strap is adjustable to a good variety of lengths, including longer than in the photos. I fit my wallet, keys, a few pens, a notebook, phone, paperback, and hand gel pretty easily, and could probably squeeze in a small water bottle too.
Really excellent quality little bag bought as a gift for my partner, he loves it!
Really pleased with the zero waste wallet. It's well made and is perfect for our upcoming travels!
I wanted a bag that would last me at least a decade of daily use. Hard to tell after a couple of weeks, but I think I've got one. It's really, really well made, robust, feels like it will wear in and age well. It's nicely capacious; I hesitated over this and the Jorvik, but this is plenty big enough for a well-packed weekend away and all daily needs. The rust colour is lovely, not quite as bright and bold as the photos seem.
I was very glad I bought the extra padding for the shoulder straps. Without, I found them a little uncomfortable, cutting in to my armpits or just below. With, it's a very comfy carry. It does add to the price, but I found it worthwhile.
I also bought the 2.6l Ramsgill pouch, which fits very nicely in the bag (without the strap) and provides more internal organisation. And then obviously you can carry both bags together for a little more capacity, or just take the pouch on its own. If you're hesitating over this or the Jorvik, consider the Gouthwaite+Ramsgill combination.
Looks great. Feels great. Amazing build. Would love the possibility of customising sections so maybe something to consider in the future.
I keep the straps in my Jorvik bag so they are always there; they do help when I carry heavier loads. These seemingly humble padded straps reflect the bag's good design, they are functional, comfortable, made with great skill and care from robust, low impact, long-lasting materials. Thank you.
Best backpack ever. Solid, comfortable, clever. Light, great colour and super high quality – feels like it will last forever.
A responsible, sustainable philosophy coupled with experience, and curiosity have produced a bag that is stunning, functional, and comfortable; made with great skill, care and love from low impact, robust, long lasting materials. The 16cm depth of the bag means, when worn as a backpack, the centre of gravity of the contents are close to the body, making it less of strain to carry, Also, perhaps, I will not cause as much chaos turning round in crowded spaces as with my previous backpack. Great bag!
We love your products, having bought a couple of bags, and love your authenticity, having met you both in the shop. So I was delighted to see the new vest design and knew my husband would love it too. He did - he’s mad about pockets!! Brilliant design, materials and style! Looks even better than it did in the promo photos.

faq's
Do you really only make 25 bags a week?
We sure do! 25 bags is our maximum capacity and we have no interest in making more than that. It means we can take great care over every detail.
To put that in perspective Rolls Royce make over 60 cars per week...
Are your bags waterproof?
Our bags are not totally waterproof, very few are. But they are pretty damn close. We spent an hour throwing them around in a waterfall and water only got in when we forgot to roll the top down....
Can I customise this bag?
Sometimes we can, sometimes we can't. It depends on the product. If you want to know more, send us an email and let us know what product you would like to personalise, along with what sort of personalisation you would like.
